A Harbor Seal's Generosity: Feeding Gulls at Deception Pass

The other evening at Deception Pass State Park, near the West Point, an interaction unfolded between a harbor seal and a group of gulls. 

This harbor seal would dive into the depths of the water to catch fish and returning to the same spot where a gathering of gulls awaited. 

It wasn’t just the gulls benefiting from this behavior—it seemed as though the seal genuinely enjoyed feeding its feathered companions.

The gulls appeared to appreciate the seal's generous actions, flocking around eagerly for their next meal. 

The harmony between these two species was captivating, and one couldn’t help but feel there was a shared joy in their peculiar partnership. 

As the sun descended and bathed the park in golden hues, this fascinating interaction slowly came to an end.

Deception Pass State Park offers more than just unique wildlife moments; it’s a stunning destination for strolling along the beach and watching unforgettable sunsets. The beauty of nature and the interconnectedness of its creatures is magic, it awaits us in every corner of this park.
