Pacific Northwest Fall Colors

Pacific Northwest Fall Colors this last fall on Highway 20 from Stevens Pass summit to Leavenworth, Washington. When the trees start their colorful transition to eye grabbing colors, it is time to hit the road. This last year (2021) was a fantastic show of cascading colors. There are many areas that definitely create a waterfall of a very colorful palette of textures and extraordinary colors.

When you’re cruising down the road, you need to look in all directions. There are many hidden gems to be seen. You may need to go off roading to capture a stunning photograph. This photograph took some off-roading and a short hike to capture the perfect composition.

When you get to the 59er diner , you’re going to want to stop and enjoy lunch, their food is delicious. After your lunch you will want to take a temporary detour to Lake Wenatchee State Park on hwy 207. The area has some great hiking trails filled with brilliant colors and wildlife.

As you continue heading east on Hwy 20 to Leavenworth, you will follow the Wenatchee River. There are many areas alongside Hwy 20 where you can pull over for a great shot. The Swiftwater Picnic Area has some hiking trails, restrooms and picnic tables.

Leavenworth makes for a magnificent spot for the end of the day and as a turnaround point.

Have a safe trip!
